Billerica is one of the oldest towns in the area. It was incorporated in 1655 and named after Billericay, in England. Two rivers shape it: the Concord River runs north through the western side toward Lowell, and the Shawsheen River crosses the eastern side. The old Middlesex Canal passed through town too, carrying goods between the Merrimack and Boston for about half a century before the railroad replaced it. During the Revolution, John Hancock and Samuel Adams took refuge at a Billerica farmhouse. Every September the town celebrates its history with Yankee Doodle Weekend.
The houses of Billerica
Walk almost any Billerica neighborhood and you will pass capes and ranches built in the 1950s and 1960s, many of them dormered or updated since. Single-family homes make up much of the town. North Billerica, which grew around its mills and the railroad in the 1800s, has older houses near the Billerica Mills Historic District.
Each style brings its own cleaning needs. A ranch keeps everything on one floor, so the kitchen and bathrooms carry most of the daily traffic. A dormered cape has sloped ceilings and tight upstairs rooms where dust settles. Samira plans each visit around the house in front of her.
Getting around town
Billerica lies directly south of Lowell, and the two meet along the city’s southern line. Route 3 runs through the western part of town, and Route 3A, also called Boston Road, runs through the middle. Samira works across all of it: North Billerica near the Concord River and the mills, Billerica Center and the Town Common, East Billerica on the Tewksbury and Wilmington side, South and West Billerica toward Bedford and Carlisle, and the Pinehurst neighborhood.
A cleaner you actually know
There is no dispatcher in this business. Samira owns it and handles every booking herself, so every question you have goes straight to her. She talks you through what your home needs, quotes a clear price, and is easy to reach by text. Conversations can happen in English or in Portuguese.
Where to go from here
Behind on the bigger chores, like baseboards, cabinet doors, light fixtures or a dusty basement stair? Book a deep cleaning to catch everything up at once. For upkeep, there is regular house cleaning, and for a sale or a lease ending, move-out cleaning. Samira also serves Billerica’s neighbors: Lowell, Chelmsford, Tewksbury and Wilmington. The full list is on the service areas page.
