Windham is a residential town in southern New Hampshire, bordered by Salem, Pelham, Hudson, Londonderry and Derry. It was settled by Scots-Irish families in the early 1700s as part of the Nutfield area and incorporated in 1742. In the 2010s it was among the fastest-growing towns in New Hampshire, yet it still keeps a lot of open space between its neighborhoods. A well-known landmark is Searles Castle, finished in 1915.
A large share of Windham’s homes sit in suburban subdivisions, many of them newer colonials and contemporary houses with several bedrooms, more than one bathroom and a lot of open floor space. Around Cobbetts Pond, east of the town center, the shoreline holds everything from seasonal cottages to large year-round homes. Canobie Lake runs along the Salem line.

Beaver Brook runs through the western side, the same brook that flows south through Pelham and Dracut into Lowell.
